Poland’s nuclear energy ambitions could create significant opportunities for domestic businesses. Developing local technological expertise and securing adequate financing are essential to making the country’s nuclear energy transition successful. This was the main message delivered by Mikołaj Raczyński, President of the Polish Development Fund (PFR), during a panel discussion at the Warsaw Security Forum 2026.
The panel, entitled “Nuclear Energy Renaissance in the Making: Learning from the Past, Building for the Future,” brought together experts from Poland and abroad to discuss the future of nuclear power, investment financing and the development of domestic supply chains. Participants included representatives of the Swedish Ministry of Energy and Enterprise, The Nuclear Company and Poland’s Ministry of Energy.
Raczyński emphasised that the renewed interest in nuclear power across Europe offers Polish companies a chance to strengthen their industrial capabilities and become part of international supply networks. The goal is to help domestic businesses compete for contracts both in Poland and in foreign markets.
Financing Nuclear Energy Projects
Large-scale nuclear investments require substantial capital and careful management of financial risks. Development institutions such as PFR can help attract private investors by sharing investment risks and encouraging capital to flow into strategically important projects.
Appropriately designed public support mechanisms can also reduce the cost of financing and, consequently, help lower the final cost of electricity. PFR sees two key areas for its involvement: supporting the financing of nuclear power projects and helping develop the industrial base needed to serve the sector.
This support could cover both major infrastructure investments and businesses supplying technologies, components and specialist services to the nuclear industry.
Strengthening Domestic Expertise and Supply Chains
The success of Europe’s nuclear energy expansion will depend on more than the scale of planned investments. It will also require reliable financing and the development of long-term industrial and technological capabilities.
One example is ZKS Ferrum, a company in which PFR holds a stake. It became the first company in Poland to obtain certification from the Office of Technical Inspection (UDT) for the nuclear sector and is taking part in Westinghouse’s supplier qualification process. Its progress demonstrates that Polish businesses are preparing to participate in nuclear energy projects.
PFR supports the Warsaw Security Forum 2026 as an Innovation Supporting Partner. Its strategic priorities include strengthening economic and defence resilience, advancing energy transformation and innovation, developing Poland’s technological independence, improving the international competitiveness of Polish companies and supporting the long-term financial security of Polish citizens.

czytaj więcejBlack holes are central to understanding the structure and thermodynamics of the Universe. They play a fundamental role in a non-expanding, infinite Universe as described in the Gravitational Model of the Universe (https://www.grawitacyjnymodelwszechswiata.pl/). In this model, the problems associated with the Big Bang Theory do not arise. The assumptions correspond to observations and no paradoxes arise.
Cosmology turned toward the Big Bang Theory because scientists were unable to resolve the problems of the Universe’s ‘gravitational collapse’ and ‘heat death’. As a result, the second cosmological principle was rejected and the influence of gravity on electromagnetic waves, as predicted by the general theory of relativity, was disregarded (e.g. in Hubble’s law).
The Polski Fundusz Rozwoju (PFR) is co-financing the construction of a new intermodal terminal for CLIP Group in Zabrze. The investment, valued at approximately PLN 145 million, is being developed on post-industrial land previously occupied by the Makoszowy coal mine and JSW Koks facilities, with completion scheduled for mid-2026.

Entering a foreign market is rarely just about having a strong product. More often, success depends on a combination of the right decisions, partnerships, timing, and the ability to seize opportunities when they arise. This was exactly the path taken by Krayna, a Polish producer of vegan cosmetics, which successfully established its presence in the Spanish market.
