Foreign investments keep rising in Poland. The Polish Agency for Information and Foreign Investment (PAIiIZ) acquired about thirty investors last semester. The investment ensures more than six thousand new workplaces. According to the National Bank of Poland the entire amount of foreign investments in Poland equals 5 billion euro in last three months. In comparison with a previous year the growth has reached 70 %. The pessimistic pre-estimations of the further investment downhill turned to be assessed too hastily. Nevertheless, it is somewhat difficult to talk about rates from 2006-2007.
The character of ventures placed in Poland has changed as well. The industrial production has been decreasing gradually. There is a constant growth of service activities towards business area and hi-tech.
The president of The Polish Agency for Information and Foreign Investment, Sławomir Majman claims that ‘the intellectual businesses’ currently form 25 % of the present investment in the Agency. “It is new and rather a permanent tendency”, says Majman.
Germany, the United States, South Korea, and the United Kingdom have placed the biggest amount of investments in Poland. The increasing number of investments from Asia (mainly from the People’s Republic of China and India) comes next in the future.
During the Investor Gala organized by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association (TEEMA) announced its decision to establish a Technology Park in Poland.
