The offers were revealed in the tender for the construction of the Sztum bypass along National Road No. 55. This is another investment in the Pomeranian Voivodeship under the 100 Bypasses Program 2020–2030 (PB100).
In October 2025, we submitted an application to the Pomeranian Voivode for a road construction permit (ZRID). If administrative procedures proceed smoothly, the decision is expected in March 2026. The project will be implemented under the traditional Design-Bid-Build system.
Tender Review
The lowest bid, worth PLN 218,384,286.62, was submitted by Trakcja, while the highest, at PLN 291,960,697.79, came from the NDI and NDI Sopot consortium. The GDDKiA budget for this task is PLN 257,349,788.86.
The sole evaluation criterion is price (100%). The selected contractor will have 22 months to complete the work, excluding the winter period from 16 December to 15 March. The contract is planned to be signed in Q2 2026, with construction expected to be completed by Q4 2028.
Scope of the Investment
The project includes the construction of a new GP-class road (main accelerated traffic) with one carriageway and one lane in each direction. The pavement will be designed for vehicles with an axle load of 11.5 tons.
The route will start north of Sztum, near the Technology Park, and connect to the existing DK55 just beyond Sztumska Wieś. The works will include:
six intersections with accompanying infrastructure,
one underpass,
one bridge structure,
four passages for large and medium-sized animals,
nine passages for small animals.
The new DK55 section will also include environmental protection features, such as ecological culverts, retention tanks, and infiltration facilities.
Improving Safety and Traffic Flow
The main goal of the bypass is to divert transit traffic away from DK55 in Sztum, enhancing resident safety, relieving the current road network, and increasing street capacity in the town. The new DK55 alignment will also improve conditions for long-distance and regional traffic, particularly during the tourist season.
PB100 Bypasses in Pomerania
The first PB100 project completed in Pomerania was the Brzezie bypass on DK25.
Currently, the tender process is ongoing for the 16-kilometre Starogard Gdański bypass on DK22, with the contract planned for signing in Q1 2026. Additionally, informational meetings and the environmental permit application have been completed for the Człuchów bypass along DK22 and DK25, with a Design & Build tender expected in Q4 2026. The nearly 9-kilometre Słupsk–Kobylnica bypass on DK21 is planned for construction between 2027 and 2031.
