On Friday, April 22nd of 2011 more than 70 Chinese businessmen met in Warsaw with Polish Deputy Prime Minister Waldemar Pawlak and took part in a series of individual business talks
Representatives of the biggest Chinese companies, among others from the mining, energy or automotive sector, and delegates of the Chinese International Trade Promotion Agency came to Poland to discuss details of our country’s investment offer.
This year Poland was the Partner Country of the Salón de Gourmets in Madrid. Between April 11-14 thirteen food producers from Eastern Poland presented high-class food products from Poland.
The fairs focus on high-quality food and are geared towards producers and distributors of high-class food products. Every year the event is attended by over 1300 exhibitors from all over the world. Traditionally the fairs present products, especially wines and other alcoholic beverages, meat and dairy products, and confectionery, from all regions of Spain. Among other exhibitors who attend the fairs every year there are the UK, the USA, Portugal and Russia.
Poland can be a good brand. Professional image development of the country has a direct impact on investor's concern. Poland seen through the eyes of foreigners is often a better place than the country described by nationals. Completely different picture is presented by people who completely do not know it and those who know the country well like businessman and reporters. How the Poland was seen in the past and how it looks nowadays, were main topics of debate 'Is Poland a good brand", organized by newspaper "Rzeczpospolita".

- It is a proper budget in crisis circumstances in Europe. - he said to reporters. It provides an increase in spending at 4.9% to the level of 132.7 billions. According to the commissioner, this is a logic of euro-budgets: the closer the financial perspective is , the increases must be greater, because of fact that programs have boosted. It concerns mainly the coherence policy which absorbs, half of EU's expenditures.
Every third merchandising company plans an investment on polish market. Only German companies have a higher indication rate: the number for this country reached 40 % level.
It is a forth time, when CB Richard Ellis has done annual research on merchandise market around the world. This year, 323 companies from 73 countries took part. Poland has noticed the 1.5% rise in activity. From all most important international merchandise chains, 32% already operates on polish market. Moreover, every third of those plan investment on polish market. Only German companies have a higher indication rate: the number for this country reached 40% level.
Luxoft invests in the Kraków Technology Park. The leading provider of outsourcing services in software design and development expands its presence in Poland.
The company was granted permission to invest in the Kraków Technology Park and by the end of 2012 plans to create there 150 jobs. - Operations undertaken in the special economic zone will boost our expansion in this part of Europe. Our Kraków-based facility will work on orders from our top clients in the finance and logistic sector. We have been now recruiting specialists in Java, NET, Flex, Oracle and MS SQL who will have the chance to cooperate in very interesting projects for the biggest companies in the world. - says Przemysław Berendt, Managing Director at Luxoft Poland.
The aim of the Agreement, signed on April 4th 2011, is to help Krosno attract foreign investors.
The Agreement sets out that PAIiZ and Krosno will together run activities which should help the town attract investors and will undertake initiatives which will improve the town’s administration efficiency in providing comprehensive information and professional services. The activities will cover issues connected promotional investment packages, selection and distribution of economic information, and management of data bases gathering data on the town’s economic issues.
Polish-Israeli B2B meetings for companies from the IT and ICT sectors. The match making session for Polish and Israeli companies took place on March 29th, 2011 at the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency.
The session included 37 B2B meetings which were attended by representatives of 16 IT/ICT companies from Eastern Poland and Israel. Talks held during the meeting concerned cooperation in the field of research and product development, distribution, licence granting, services and production; and technology cooperation. Companies which took part in the meeting represented a wide range of business activities, from entities providing web hosting and multimedia services to companies providing management and application systems for call centres.
The Polski Fundusz Rozwoju (PFR) is co-financing the construction of a new intermodal terminal for CLIP Group in Zabrze. The investment, valued at approximately PLN 145 million, is being developed on post-industrial land previously occupied by the Makoszowy coal mine and JSW Koks facilities, with completion scheduled for mid-2026.
